What should I bring to the consultation?

Please bring relevant clinic letters, imaging reports or access details if you have them, a current medication list and any information about previous operations or treatment. The secretary can advise if hospital systems already hold your imaging.

Will I need an X-ray?

Many hip and knee problems are assessed with weight-bearing X-rays. The exact imaging required depends on the problem and any recent investigations already available.

Do I need surgery if I have arthritis?

No. Surgery is only one option. The consultation should establish the cause and severity of symptoms and discuss appropriate non-surgical and surgical choices.

How long will I stay in hospital after joint replacement?

Length of stay varies. Some selected patients may be suitable for same-day discharge within an enhanced recovery pathway, while others need an overnight or longer stay.

Can I choose Coventry or Worcester?

Yes, depending on the service required, hospital availability and your preference. The practice secretary can help with the appropriate location.

Do you see insured and self-pay patients?

Yes. Self-pay fees are shown on the Fees & Insurance page. Insured patients should confirm authorisation and policy requirements with their insurer.
